Question 1

Is there a free Planning Poker tool with no signup required?

Accepted Answer

Yes. sprinting.tools is completely free — no account, no credit card, no trial period. Open any tool, share the link with your team, and start collaborating in seconds. It has always been free and is designed to stay that way.

Question 2

What is Planning Poker and how does it work?

Accepted Answer

Planning Poker (also called Scrum Poker) is a consensus-based estimation technique used in agile and Scrum teams. Each team member privately selects a card representing their effort estimate — typically using a Fibonacci sequence (1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21) — then everyone reveals simultaneously. Revealing at the same time prevents anchoring bias, where early estimates unduly influence the rest of the group. When estimates diverge, the team discusses and re-votes until consensus is reached. sprinting.tools runs Planning Poker in real-time with reveal-at-once mechanics, built-in consensus analytics, and no account needed.

Question 3

How does real-time collaboration work — is my data stored on a server?

Accepted Answer

Collaborative room actions — card flips, votes, timer updates — are broadcast in-memory in real-time and never written to permanent storage. When a session ends, that data is gone. Workspace preferences (like your display name or card deck choice) are saved only in your local browser storage and never leave your device. Nothing your team estimates or discusses is persisted on our servers.

Question 4

Does sprinting.tools use cookies or track my team?

Accepted Answer

No. sprinting.tools runs with zero third-party analytics, tracking cookies, or marketing SDKs. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no fingerprinting. What you estimate and build belongs entirely to you and your team. This is not a policy we can quietly change later — it is baked into how the product is architected.

Question 5

How many people can join a Planning Poker or Retro room?

Accepted Answer

There is no hard cap on participants. sprinting.tools is designed for typical Scrum team sizes (5–15 people) but handles larger groups without issue. Simply share the room link and anyone with it can join instantly — no invite system, no waiting room, no per-seat pricing.

Question 6

What tools are included besides Planning Poker?

Accepted Answer

sprinting.tools is a full agile workbench. Alongside Planning Poker, it includes: a Retrospective Board (start, stop, continue with private writing, group reveal, and dot voting), a Kanban Board (WIP-limited with drag-and-drop and throughput stats), a Meeting Timer (segmented agenda timer with presets for standups, reviews, and retros), Standup Prompts (rotating focus, blockers, and energy prompts), a Quick Poll (single-question live voting), a Mood Tracker (anonymous team pulse with trends), and a Random Choice picker. All tools are free and require no signup.

Question 7

What makes sprinting.tools different from other online Planning Poker tools?

Accepted Answer

Most Planning Poker tools are either paywalled, require account creation, or are standalone tools with no broader agile context. sprinting.tools is a complete scrum workbench — Planning Poker, Retros, Kanban, Standups, and more — all free, all in one place, with no account required. It is also built and hosted entirely in the EU, uses no tracking or third-party cookies, and is designed with privacy as a structural choice rather than a checkbox. For teams who care about where their data lives and who is watching, that matters.

Question 8

Is sprinting.tools hosted in the EU? Why does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, sprinting.tools is built and hosted entirely within the European Union. For teams subject to GDPR — or simply teams who prefer their tooling not routed through US-based cloud infrastructure — this means your session data stays in the EU, governed by EU data protection law. It is one less compliance conversation for your engineering or legal team.

Question 9

Is sprinting.tools GDPR compliant?

Accepted Answer

Yes. sprinting.tools is fully GDPR compliant by design. We adhere to strict data minimization, meaning we only collect what is functionally necessary (like an email and password for optional registration). We run with zero third-party tracking cookies or marketing analytics. All database storage is hosted in Zurich, Switzerland, and our application servers are located in Germany, keeping all processing within highly secure European jurisdictions.

Question 10

Is sprinting.tools WCAG compliant and accessible?

Accepted Answer

Yes. sprinting.tools is fully WCAG 2.2 AA compliant. We design and test our tools to ensure they are accessible to everyone, using semantic markup, keyboard navigability, and high-contrast color palettes. If you run into any accessibility issues or have feedback for further improvements, please let us know.
